A leisurely train journey, a four hour span over arabian sea, a quick 14 hour adventure over many seas and plains landed me on the land many of our youth dream for. A cloudy New York afternoon spread its carpet for over 600 of us. Sunny, cold wind whispered its welcome notes in American accent. Long lobbies, cosmopolitan fellow travellers, striking displays of duty free shops, and a short transit followed by another two hour drift .... I am there. I have learned the art of passsing through the airports and smiling at their amazing rituals.

How silent America is! Where are the honking cars? Where are the jarring loud speakers that deafen you with their non-stop religious hymns, all those shouts and loud conversations, Closed windows of the cars make America more silent.

Now I have discovered why people  prefer to stay back in USA.

The you attitude I have read in management books is visible here. The discipline on the road, the courteous, very friendly, smiling people across the counters in every shop, clean, dust free roads, and rest rooms everywhere, and of course the weather, however discomfort  it may cause - all these and much more.

Many senior citizens who come back from this country complain that life here is dull and hence their urge to get back to their old eventless routine. I wish to differ from them. For a holiday, life here is wonderful.

Variety, thy name is America.

March 25th 2015 - The day promised me many dreams, life long wishes, much fulfilment and of course great moments with those I love so much.

Indeed these make sense. Paradox is certainly worth thinking over. Chesterton is a master of course.

Less is more

“Vision is the art of seeing things invisible.”    Swift
We must die in order to live.
The advantages of having a noisy neighbour.
Emptiness is a way of saving space - Luisa Villani
knowing nothing at all might indicate you really know something - LV
He explained the 'you' you were and the 'you' you were not - LV

Similarly the case of oxymoron,  but how does it different from paradox?

A few examples are given below:

A wise fool
An open secret
A cheerful pessimist
A living death
Bitter- sweet memories
The kind cruelty of the surgeon’s knife.

No wonder our students find it easy to answer comprehension questions. But is it really easy?

How a  comprehension passage given in most of the Indian schools is found easy by students.

In Mysore there once lived a nogur in a trub.  He was umbracive and stogish. He had a sister whom he togged constantly. She was a drimple who frigged all day. One day the nogur bought his sister a pretty kingle.
1.Who lived in Mysore?
2.What kind of a nogur was he?
3.Who did he tog constantly?
4.What did the sister do all day?
5.What did the nogur buy for his sister?
